NEW .22 RIMFIRE COMPETITION DATES
Participation in the Sporting High Power matches has waned of late. The regular participants have agreed to switch to 50 yard .22 rimfire matches to see if we can increase participation in organized disciplines.
Starting on September 17,2022, we will have the CMP Rimfire Sporter Games. Set up will be 0730, with shooting starting at 0800. This is the same course of fire that is used by the Boy Scouts for their shooting badge.
The CMP designed the Rimfire Sporter Game for young shooters, and still have enough of a challenge for adults. BRING THE KIDS! YOU WILL ALSO BE SHOOTING!
CMP Rimfire Sporter Games is designed to use common rimfire sporting rifles, such as 10-22’s, Marlin, Mossberg and other makes of bolt actions, lever action and auto loaders. The rifles including sights/scopes have a weight limit of 7.5 pounds. There are multiple classes for different types of rifles and sights.
Classifications are:
Barrel mounted iron sights
Aperture rears sights
Scopes up to 6 power. Variable scopes set to 6 power.
Rifles that have any combination of aperture sights, pistol grips, adjustable stocks, adjustable cheek piece, orthopedic pistol grip or thumb hole stocks.
Slings are allowed, shooting jackets and gloves are not allowed. Bring your spotting scope.
Prone and kneeling/sitting are at 50 yards, standing is at 25 yards. All positions involve slow fire and rapid fire strings.
This requires 60 rounds plus sighters and is at no cost.
