50 yd Berm Protocol
Now that the 50 yard range is in operation, the following is the safety protocol for hot/cold range.
When the main range is going cold and the 50 yard range is in use, contact will be made with the persons on the 50 yard range that the range is going cold. The whole range, including the 50 yard range will then go cold.
The 50 yard range has a distinctive bell and flashing strobe for the 50 yard range, allowing the 50 yard range to go hot/cold independent of the main range.
The 50 yard range CAN GO COLD and persons CAN GO DOWN RANGE while the main range is hot.
Currently portions of the 200 yard targets are visible from the 50 yard range. Future improvements may include a raised baffle on the berm/wall structure to block line of sight to the 200 yard line and make the 50 yard range totally independent.
