General Announcements

The 2016 club calendar is up on the website. As always, it may be updated as new things come up, but we hope these changes will be minimal. Be sure to take a look at the calendar before you head out to the range, and pay special attention to which events allow general shooting while the event is going on. We don’t want you to waste your time or fuel driving out to the range if you won’t be able to shoot.

Membership: Dues: It is $80 to join with renewals at $60, or $40 if you participated in a work party in the last year. If the renewal is late (after July 1st) you will need to rejoin at $80. You can mail your renewal to the club address during Jan/Feb to save from being on long lines during meetings, or come to a meeting to renew but face the lines. Also please remember that our membership committee is made up of volunteers, and all of them have day jobs, and remember that all mail in the Tri-Cities now goes through Spokane, so make sure to send in your renewal early so you don’t get locked out.

Reminder: There has also been a policy change, you must renew before July 1 or you will be considered a new member, meaning dues will be $80 and you must go through new member orientation again.

TCMSA wants you to know: You must get positive confirmation from everyone BEFORE you make the range cold. It’s also a good idea to look up & down the line one more time after you blow the horn & turn the strobes on to make sure everyone is clear that the range is cold.

Match Reports: Gaylord said the Nov 5th CMP match was cancelled due to fog-with only 50 yds of visibility. The next match is Dec 3rd. The Nov 12th .22 rimfire match had 21 shooters-with 2 women and 2 juniors. The next match is Dec 10th. The Nov 19th SHP match had 7 shooters. The next match is Dec 17th. Bob said the Nov 26th Benchrest match had 10 shooters. They started shooting at 10 and it was a nice day. The next match is Dec 31. It will be a club match. Start your New Year’s celebration early-with a bang.

Board Report: There was no meeting, so nothing new to report.

Safety Committee Report: Mark said the season was over and will resume in the spring. No incidents reported.

Reminder: Members are responsible for all the guests they bring to the range.

Range Report: Greg was not present, so no report. Mark shared several issues he had experience. On arrival the gate was open, someone had attached clay pigeons to cardboard and attached to target frames-clays should be place in the center of berm, one of the pistol target frames was completely shot-up-could/should have been replaced by the last shooter. This range is ALL our responsibility. All members should be safe and considerate of the facility and its contents. Every member is accountable for the condition of the range.

OLD BUSINESS: There was another meeting with the JROTC commander and school officials and legal advisors. After questions and clarifications of goals, etc., it appears the partnership will go ahead. Everyone was enthusiastic. They will draft a formal agreement with guidelines/requirements and there will be another meeting (s) in the near future.

NEW BUSINESS: Gaylord said there will be elections at the January meeting for all officer and 2 board positions. The Board positions are Sam Kniveton and Ron Greer. We are looking for nominations. One said-keep all officer positions, as is. Mark Johnson was nominated for a board position, Ron Greer said he’d run again, Sam Kniveton was re-nominated, though not present. Nominations can also be made at the January meeting prior to the election.
